Duties & Responsibilities: This position is located in Tanzania. Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) has a long-standing collaboration with a number of medical and public health academic institutions in East Africa. Over the past 20 years, we conducted several large clinical trials on infectious diseases, maternal and child health, and nutrition. The Clinical Research and Regulatory Manager is responsible for the overall conduct of cutting edge research on HIV/AIDS and other health outcomes in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. PLEASE NOTE: This position is grant funded through 11/30/2013.

Basic Qualifications: Degree in health related field plus 3-5 years experience in research and regulatory management. Experience in management of clinical trials desirable, preferably in developing countries. Willing to relocate to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Additional Qualifications: Knowledge and understanding of the operational, logistical, administrative, and regulatory requirements of laboratory, medical, and/or field research studies.Good writing skills. Ability to provide operational guidance and leadership to technical staff in area of specialty. Skill in collecting, analyzing, verifying, and manipulating research data. Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management, and knowledge of human resources administration principles and practices, desirable. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to format and generate summary, statistical, and presentation reports.
